On Saturday, April 2, 2005 the Mocksville Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management for Davie County, Davie County EMS, Davie County Rescue Squad, Mocksville Police Department and the Davie County Sheriff's Office participated in a simulated terrorist incident at the Davie County High School. This simulation was conducted thru the Department of Homeland Defense as a part of Grant Funds that were obtained for Homeland Security. The drill consisted of a body bomb explosion with possible chemical release causing a mass casualty incident. The exercise was designed to test interoperability within the various emergency services of Davie County and our ability to work within the Unified Command System. The Department was also able to use several new pieces of equipment that was obtained with grant funds.
